Regular day, Joan off to Zumba early and then she had a meeting up at the Council offices together with David Brown, chairman of BRS. This to try to establish proper criteria for getting things done without people trying to resort to using the press and or getting angry. Brits over here need to learn that things are much more laid back and things do not happen immediately, as is supposed to happen in UK.

This afternoon, Pat E had an afternoon tea at her home, charged an entrance fee and ran a raffle. Proceeds from this are going in aid of the Ras Morbat Clinic in Aden. This clinic comes under the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf, just as St Andrew's does. The clinic is based in the Yemin which is of course one of the poorest and most underdeveloped country in the Middle East and the church and associated clinic is vital for the people and the refugees there. Pat collected 900 TL for her afternoons work, all this sort of thing helps a great deal.
