Yesterday being the first day of another new month and realising that it was the last valid day for our car insurance across the border, we decided that a shopping trip was needed. It is not that food stuff is really any cheaper over there but we have a much wider choice and usually the fresh vegetables and fruit are actually fresh. I think that the reason for this is, much bigger popoulation, the supermarket chains, as they do in the UK, actually import products that are not actually in season, plus of course we have the advantage of access to shops like Lidl, which we don't have in the North.

We do have to remember of course that the extra insurance costs us 25 Euros per month, but in our case we had insurance because we flew out of Larnaca to go to SA so needed insurance for that.

When we got back home we stocked up our freezer and fridge then went down to The Blue Song for dinner. Still our favourite and still quality at a good price.
